The Department offers a four-year rigorous training under B.El.Ed. Programme to sharpen the students' intellect along with sensitizing them towards the world. Even as students confront issues in the field of Education, they will simultaneously learn concepts in fields such as Sociology, Economics, Psychology, Sciences, Mathematics, and Linguistics. The programme culminates in an intensive, six months long school-teaching internship in the final year.
After graduation, the student has the option of pursuing a Masters in Social Sciences or Humanities depending upon their choice during the course and move on for a career in academics. Or else, the student, who will be graduating with a professional teaching degree, can opt for a school teaching job, which in more cases than not is on offer even before completion of graduation
