Society

The members of Mathematics’ society SANKHYA are seen engaged in organization of activities starting from farewell for the graduating batch to the annual department fest ORIGIN. Seminars, hand-on workshops and lectures by eminent personalities are essential components of the year-round activities.

In the academic year 2019-2020, with the dedicated efforts of the faculty, Students’ Union, Editorial board and all the society members saw the establishment of an Alumnae Network of the department wherein the current students could connect with our distinguished alumnae and benefit from their expertise in various fields.

Our annual inter college Festival Origin is a combination of academics together with fun events. The Society also works on the annual departmental magazine Mathletics which invites articles from both students and faculty members.

The students democratically choose their representatives through election. The Council comprises of the President and Vice President from the 3rd year and the General Secretary and Treasurer from the 2nd year. In addition, it also includes two class representatives of each year. The society is largely student driven, with faculty contribution. Students have divided themselves into dedicated, self-organized teams, in order to conduct the various activities of the society.
