MIRANDA HOUSE HAS BEEN RANKED NO.1 AMONG COLLEGES BY NIRF RANKING 2023


The Sociology society is very active and is involved in organising various events seminars, workshops and lectures. It also organises an annual inter college Sociology Festival Utopia. Utopia is a combination of academic and non-academic events. The academic events include lectures and panel discussions. The non-academic events include paper presentation by students, film screenings of student films and debates etc.

The student body for an efficient and democratic planning and running of events is organised into a Sociology Cabinet. The Cabinet comprises of the President and Treasurer from the 3rd year; the Vice President and Cultural Secretary from the 2nd year and the General Secretary and the Joint Secretary from the 1st year. In addition, it includes the class representatives of each year. It meets once a month and is chaired by the Faculty adviser to the Society. Before the start of each academic year the Cabinet works out the budget and the plans the event for the next academic year.
