Journal – Miranda Law and Policy Review (MLPR)

About MLPR

The convergence of law and public policy permeates every aspect of human life. It forms the bedrock of organizing modern society and establishes the social, political, and economic institutions on which states and nations are built. Public policies exist within the context set by a country’s constitutional and legal framework. At the same time, the laws, rights, and duties of citizens are often manifested in the form of policy measures that enable them to improve public welfare. Building on this foundational understanding, the Miranda Law and Policy Review focuses on topics of law, police, and their intersection. The Journal under the aegis of the Legal Aid Center and Policy Center & Gender Lab, Miranda House, Peer-reviewed and annually published, it seeks to promote scholarship on the confluence of law and public policy issues and its impact on governance and society.

MLPR looks forward to creating a space for practitioners and academicians to bring to the fore well-researched and qualitative studies on imminent issues of gender, education, health, disability rights, livelihood, etc. The Miranda Law and Policy Review (MLPR) invites review works on both law and policy issues as well as their intersection. MLPR also seeks to bridge the gap between the study and practice of not just law and policy but also conducting research in India. Therefore, it also invites scholars to share their experiences of conducting on-ground research and fieldwork and their reflections on the same.

Following the legacy of Miranda House, MLPR endeavors to promote inclusive and ethical research and contribute to in- formed law and policymaking in the country.
