The History Society activities encourage students to engage with history through debates and discussions, interactions with eminent scholars and regular seminars. They are encouraged to 'do history' through research papers of their own. Visits to archives and museums, outstation trips and regular student led heritage walks, around the country and even abroad, provide a forum to take history outside the classroom and engage with the public at large.
The History Society is run mostly by students under the guidance of the faculty. The Student Council comprises 7 elected representatives. All events are organized and coordinated by them.
Raahi, the Heritage Walk Society, is a very active body that functions under the aegis of the History Society.
