MIRANDA HOUSE HAS BEEN RANKED NO.1 AMONG COLLEGES BY NIRF RANKING 2023




Antheia, The inaugural lecture of Botanical Society ‘Antheia’ was deliveredby Prof. Arun Jagannath, Department of Botany, University of Delhi on “Promises and Fears of Transgenic Technology” on 09 September 2019. Prof. Jagannath discussed various aspects including applications and fears associated with transgenic technology.

Koshika, the much-looked-forward-to annual festival of ‘Antheia’, was held on 11 March, 2019. An inter College Paper presentation competition on the topic “Importance of coral reefs and the consequences of their possible extinctions” was organized. In this eventstudents from various colleges of University of Delhi as well as other departments of Miranda House participated. Besides, some former students of the Department who are currently pursuing their post-graduation also participated in it. In Koshika-2018, Prof. S.B. Babbar, Department of Botany, University of Delhi delivered lecture on ‘DNA Barcoding: Concept, History, Methodology and Applications’ followed by various inter-college competitions.

Quisqualis, is the magazine of Botanical Society ‘Antheia’. Translated from the Latin, Quisqualis means Who? What? A fine definition of curiosity, this is exactly what the magazine is all about.Quisqualis 2018-19 was compiled with participation of students and teaching as well as non-teaching staff and it showcased the plethora of ideas that a human mind can think of.
