Add-on Course offered by department

The Department of Mathematics in collaboration with the Computer Science Department offered a 36 hour Add-on Certificate Course in 'Operations Research: Optimization for Better Tomorrow' with assistance of the expert faculty from the Management Schools and Department of Operations Research, Delhi University since 2006. The course was designed for students across all the colleges of Delhi University with a background preferably in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics and Physics so that they can exercise analytical skills and creativity in solving real-world problems such as resource management, health care, public policy and many others. Students were also given hands on to a wide range of OR- related software such as LINGO, MUPAD, WBB, and Solver. From the academic year 2016-17 this course was being run by only Department of Mathematics.
To get our students updated with the current technological pace, the department is planning to organize short term courses on Python and Data Science and how Mathematics is a perfect tool in bridging the gap, in near future.
