A Guidance and Counselling Unit run by a professionally trained Counsellor exists at Miranda House. The Counsellor is available thrice a week during College hours to address the needs of students and staff. The Counsellor plays a crucial role in helping students overcome exam worries, stress, personal and social problems.
In particular, students facing disciplinary issues are urged to visit the Counselling unit for resolution of problems.
Ms. Alpana Rustogi is a trained social worker and counselor providing
mental health support for young adults. She holds a Bachelor in History
from Hindu College, the University of Delhi, a Masters in Social Work
from Jamia Millia University (with specialization in Medical and
Psychiatric Social work), and a Diploma in Child Guidance and
Counselling from the National Council of Educational Research and
Training (NCERT). Ms. Rustogi has extensive experience working with
adolescents in various settings providing social, emotional,
psychological, and educational support, providing both individual and
family therapy in a safe and confidential environment.
Timings: Monday, Wednesday and Friday (12-5 PM)
