Enactus (ENtrepreneurial ACtion for Others Creates a Better World for US All), Miranda House was established in 2011 with the vision of creating sustainable social impact through entrepreneurial action. Since its inception, Enactus Miranda House has consistently worked towards addressing pressing social and environmental challenges while empowering communities that have long remained marginalised.
Over the years, the organisation has successfully undertaken impactful initiatives such as Project Pehchaan, Project Zaffran, and Project Pick with Pride. Currently, Enactus Miranda House is actively running five projects: Project Riwayat, Project Ikhtiyaar, Project Dharang, Project Nitara, and Project Noorani, each focusing on a distinct dimension of sustainability and social impact.
Project Riwayat focuses on transforming textile waste into eco-friendly bricks and handcrafted products, promoting circular economy practices. Project Ikhtiyaar addresses waste management by upcycling discarded coffee grounds into sustainable products such as coasters and coffee coal, thereby reducing landfill waste and promoting responsible consumption. Project Dharang tackles the issue of single-use plastic, fast fashion, and carbon emissions by producing durable and sustainable cotton cloth tote bags. These tote bags are handcrafted by retired anganwadi workers and homemakers who were adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Project Nitara works towards developing sustainable packaging solutions using mushroom-root-based materials, while Project Noorani focuses on creating natural dyes from waste flowers and raw materials sourced from the Yamuna floodplains.
At Enactus Miranda House, we strive to identify deep-rooted societal problems and develop innovative, sustainable solutions through entrepreneurial action. Driven by the belief that success is most meaningful when it creates impact beyond profit, Enactus Miranda House continues to work towards building a more equitable, sustainable, and better world.
