Free Legal Counselling and Aid

Vidhik Sahayata Kendra (Legal Aid Centre) was inaugurated on 5 th January, 2023 in collaboration with Delhi State Legal Services Authority in college campus to spread legal literacy and provide free legal aid to all students and faculty members in need. Miranda House, being an institution that has always supported its members through various challenges, the legal aid center extends the same in the form of free legal and consumer consultative aid.

The Legal Aid Centre, Miranda House, in collaboration with DSLSA (Delhi State Legal Services

Authority) aims to bridge the gap between the common citizens and law by operating upon certain key objectives. These include facilitating free and efficient legal and consumer consultative aid to all those in need, supplementing students with practical knowledge of law essential in day to day life, and spreading legal literacy for empowering the youth with awareness and knowledge of their rights and laws.

With its motto as “Empowerment Through Legal Awareness”, the Centre hosts a DSLSA appointed every Friday from 2pm to 5pm within the college campus. An advocate from DSLSA visits the center to provide free legal counseling and legal aid. This service is available to all students and staff members.
